Right of withdrawal:
In Germany, you generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal, which means you can return goods without giving a reason within 14 days of receipt and get a refund. This applies to both online purchases and purchases in stationary stores.
Exceptions: The right of withdrawal does not apply to some goods, such as: Newspapers and magazines, Digital products (e.g. eBooks, downloads)
Costs for the return:
The costs for the return of the goods are generally borne by the buyer. The seller is not obliged to bear the costs of the return shipment. Conditions for return: To receive a refund, the following conditions must be met: The goods must be returned complete and in the original packaging. The goods must not be used or damaged. A withdrawal form must be filled out and signed by the seller and sent to them. Refund: The seller is obliged to refund the purchase price within 14 days of receipt of the returned goods. The refund is usually made in the same way as the payment of the purchase price.
Legal warranty:
Irrespective of the right of withdrawal, there is a legal warranty for all goods. This means that the seller is liable for defects in the goods that already existed at the time of purchase. In this case, the buyer can have the goods replaced or repaired.
